Size and Ordering Guide

Sizing is where team and staff orders go wrong most often — not because people pick the wrong size for themselves, but because nobody wants to be the one who says they need a 2XL. This page is about getting the order right the first time, since decorated goods cannot be exchanged for a different size.

Measurements come from the manufacturer

Every brand sizes differently, and the same brand sizes differently across styles. A men's medium in a fitted retail-cut tee is a noticeably different garment from a men's medium in a heavyweight workwear tee. We do not publish one universal chart, because a universal chart would be wrong.

Ask us for the manufacturer's measurement chart for the exact style you are considering and we will send it. If exact fit matters, order a sample before we produce the run. A sample costs a few dollars; a mis-sized run of 150 pieces does not.

How garments generally run

  • Standard / classic fit — roomier through the body, straight cut. Most heavyweight tees, workwear and traditional hoodies. Safe default for a mixed group.
  • Retail / fashion fit — narrower through the body with a shorter, tapered cut. Most premium ring-spun tees and sponge fleece. Many people size up one.
  • Ladies' cut — shaped through the waist and cut shorter. Runs smaller than unisex; it is not the same garment in a different label.
  • Unisex — a men's cut sold to everyone. Women ordering unisex commonly go one size down from their usual.
  • Youth — sized by age range but varies a lot by brand. A youth large is not an adult small.
  • Tall sizes — add roughly two inches of body length without adding width. The right fix for height, the wrong fix for build.

Splitting a size run

If you are ordering for a group and cannot collect everyone's size individually, a typical adult size distribution looks roughly like this:

  • S — about 10%
  • M — about 20%
  • L — about 25%
  • XL — about 25%
  • 2XL — about 15%
  • 3XL and up — about 5%

Adjust it for who you are actually ordering for. A youth sports league skews small. A construction crew skews large. An all-female staff should be ordering ladies' cuts, not a shifted unisex run.

If you can collect real sizes, collect real sizes. A shared sheet where people enter their own size takes ten minutes and beats any percentage split.

Extended sizes

2XL and above usually carry a manufacturer upcharge, which is already reflected in the price on each product page. Not every style is made in every extended size — if you need a full range up to 4XL or 5XL, tell us and we will point you at the styles that actually go that far rather than the ones that stop at 2XL.

Ordering a few extra

On a team or staff order, ordering a handful of spares in the middle sizes is cheap insurance. Adding pieces to an existing run costs far less than a reorder later, because the setup is already paid for and the garments are already here. Somebody always joins late, and something always gets lost.

What we need from you

Style number, garment colour, and a size breakdown — for example: 12 S, 24 M, 30 L, 30 XL, 18 2XL. Send that with your artwork and we will quote the whole thing at once.

Ask us for measurements on a specific style.
